I’m Laura Leistikow, founder of Holistic Energy Living—a platform for people and organizations who want a clearer, more realistic understanding of health, stress, resilience, and what it takes to sustain wellbeing over time.
My work is grounded first in lived experience. As a scoliosis survivor, I’ve spent much of my life navigating chronic pain, physical limitation, burnout, and the realities of modern healthcare. I learned—often without guidance—how to move through insurance systems, medical decision-making, and long-term recovery, including three major surgeries, two completed without pharmaceutical pain management.
Through that process, I didn’t just survive the system—I learned how it works. I helped shape and advocate for care pathways that are now commonly used within insurance-based models. Those experiences fundamentally shaped how I see healthcare today: complex, impersonal, and often disconnected from the lived reality of the person inside the body.
What emerged was a different lens. I no longer see the body as something broken that needs fixing, but as an intelligent system—constantly responding to its environment, demands, and internal signals.
Over time, I noticed a gap. On one side were clinical and performance-driven models that often overlooked lived experience. On the other were wellness spaces that relied on language or promises that didn’t resonate with people seeking clarity, evidence, and grounded insight. My work lives in the space between.
Today, I’m known for translating complex ideas—nervous system science, stress physiology, perception, and self-regulation—into language people can actually use. I offer depth without dogma, perspective rather than prescriptions, and education without ideology.
My background is intentionally interdisciplinary. I hold a BA in Fine Arts with an emphasis in Psychology, alongside a BA in Computer Science—an uncommon combination that shaped how I think about patterns, systems, structure, and human behavior. I’ve also trained in foraging, botany, and medicine making through the Chestnut School of Herbal Medicine, grounding my understanding of the natural world without romanticizing it.
I am a Reiki Master Teacher and Karuna Reiki® Master Teacher, credentials that inform my understanding of awareness, perception, and human regulation. These modalities support my work—but the focus is not on techniques. It’s on helping people understand how internal signals shape experience, behavior, and health.
I work with individuals, leaders, and organizations through speaking engagements, workshops, education, and one-on-one sessions—supporting those navigating high-pressure environments, chronic stress, persistent pain, and burnout to build capacity, clarity, and resilience without bypassing reality.
At Holistic Energy Living, the goal isn’t quick fixes or promised transformation. It’s insight, agency, and regulation—creating space for people to reconnect with their own intelligence so they can engage with life from a more sustainable place.
Whether I’m speaking, teaching, or working one-on-one, my role is the same: to serve as a connector—between experience and evidence, body and mind, awareness and action.
This work isn’t about becoming someone else.
It’s about understanding what’s already at work within you—and learning how to work with it, rather than against it.
Explore speaking, workshops, and sessions designed to support clarity, regulation, and sustainable capacity—without mysticism or medicalization.
